Educational Goals
The Department of Applied Foreign Languages of CTU was established in 1998.
The educational objectives are to enhance students' specialized abilities in foreign languages, international trade, computer skills and tourism profession; to adapt to the current economic trends in Taiwan; and to be an integral part of Taiwan is national policy on the internationalization of Taiwan economy.
We strengthen students' skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, particularly their ability to communicate fluently and confidently with others in target languages.
We place special emphasis on commerce education and computer science to train students as professionals in related fields.
We also foster students’ interest in general knowledge and cultivate them to have integrity and adaptability to meet the growing demand for foreign-language tour-guides in the worldwide LOHAS trend and Taiwan’s aspiration for an edge in the global village.
